About Education
Education is the process by which people acquire knowledge, skills, tools, ethics, behaviors, morals, attitudes, and habits through education. Educational systems include training, teaching, storytelling, critical thinking, team development, practice, applied research and directed activity. In this context, “learning” can also refer to the processes of acquiring knowledge or to people engaging in the learning process. The concept of “learning” is very broad and includes all the different ways that people learn. Some of these are listed below.
Learning is an ongoing process. It is a process that is personal, social and institutionalized as a norm. The theories of learning can be divided into two broad categories, those that frame the learning process as a process of personal discovery and those that frame the learning process as a process of formal organization. The former includes elements such as cultural theory, structural linguistics, cognitive science and behavioral science, while the latter includes elements such as education, teaching methods, learning theory, knowledge construction, parental influence and Montessori.
The major functions of education are to equip students for life; to develop self-discipline, social awareness, responsibility and leadership; to provide learners with knowledge and skills required for realizing their potential; and to develop learners’ relations with other learners, teachers and other professionals. All these processes have multiple dimensions, which are each individually and collectively shaped by individual and institutionalized processes. An educational system can be described as learning that putting learning into practice. There are learning processes that are characterized by one or more qualities such as structured, directed, interactive, experiential, inclusive, collaborative, experiential, reflective, modeling, trial and error, incremental, blended and differentiated learning.
There are many concepts about education that are important to us today. One of the most influential is the school’s contribution to the shaping of society. Schooling is a process that produces social beings who become productive members of the community, society and the country at large. The other important concept about education is that it is the basis for the education process itself.
Learning is a systematic process that begins with the acquisition of appropriate knowledge and facilitates the development of learners’ capacity to learn. At the end of the learning process, there is the achievement of learners’ goals and objectives. The first phase of the learning process is classroom instruction, which is an extremely significant aspect of the whole learning process. The other phases are student-centered instruction, field activities and student management. In the United States, the National Standards sets the national expectations for the achievement of all students.
There are many learning systems that have been developed over time, all of which are aimed at producing highly qualified and effective learners. These learning systems differ in terms of the methods of delivery, the quality of the instructional materials, the mode of feedback, the processes involved in their organization and the ways in which they are evaluated. The development of a learning system requires the collaboration of teachers, parents, guardians, other professionals and learners themselves.
