In previous years for Halloween I did not think much of the newspapper or his duties. In the few weeks before Halloween I did not pay attention to the polls, but then I did, and boy was I glad. If you have never done this before, I can tell you that it is a blast. You get to vote on tons of stuff including decorations for your yard. What a great way to spend one of the busiest times of year.
The only problem is when you do not know how to get your hands on the results of the poll. That is where the newspapper comes in. With so many people doing the same thing I have been able to learn a few tricks over the past couple years that help make my job even easier. A little bit of time spent here can make your Halloween just that much more enjoyable. The last couple years I have been able to get the job done without having to do any extra or dirty work.
It all starts with the polls that are posted around Halloween forums and blogs. These surveys usually tell you what costumes are popular, which movie is going to be in theaters, and which songs are on top for the week. All of these polls are fun to do because you get to give your opinion and have others share theirs too. Sometimes you can stumble upon something very special. You just need to take a moment and check the forum or blog to see if anyone has found anything interesting.
If you notice that some posts get more responses than others then it is your lucky day. Start by reading through all the replies to the post. This will give you an idea of what people are talking about. Once you start getting replies about a certain topic, you can begin to fill out your forms. While you are filling out your forms, make sure you put in all of the necessary information so that the newspapper can get you started on your surveys immediately.
Some sites offer users the ability to start a Poll while others require users to log in and answer a few basic questions. With the Poll you can set the length of the poll and even determine how many people you would like to receive a poll. After you have filled out your information the newspapper will then proceed to start the process. Some websites may also ask for additional information from you before they start the poll.
In order for the poll to be completed the newspapper will need to verify some basic information. They will need to know where you live, how many children you and/or the children are living with, and whether or not you are planning to move. These are the only questions that they will ask in order to get your demographic information. The fact that you have registered for the poll is all that is required of you. All you have to do after that is to sit back and watch the results roll in. You might receive a few surprise results but that is the whole point of posting a poll.
