What Is the Role of Education?
Education is the process by which educating individuals, creating knowledge, acquiring skills, values, morals, attitudes, and habits. Educational systems include coaching, teaching, counseling, lecture and guided observation. There are several types of education such as formal school education, community education, vocational education, home education, adult education and lifelong education. In communities across the world, parents work with education professionals to develop curriculums that children can use to learn skills and knowledge needed to succeed in life.
An essential tool for an informed and prosperous society, education plays a vital role in building the modern family. Education helps to prepare students for the future by inculcating values and habits that benefit a person as they mature into adulthood. A well-informed adult is likely to be well functioning and responsible.
Education is structured on two main ways: formal and informal education. Formal education takes place in classrooms, day schools, and other formal educational facilities. Informal education, on the other hand, can take place at homes, during leisure time, in clubs, sports events, and at work. In some cultures, formal and informal education holds a vital role in deciding who becomes an adult, while in other countries it is not commonly practiced.
Formal education typically takes longer than informal education. Students in formal education typically complete at least four years at a university or college. Students in formal education typically complete between eight and twelve years at a university or college. The length of formal education typically depends on the type of degree program completed.
In the United States, the typical student completes four years of college and University coursework, plus a year of business administration, plus a year of foreign language study, plus the equivalent number of hours in learning areas of study as determined by the National Association for Business Education (NABE) or International Organization for Standardization (OHS). Students also complete coursework such as mathematics, reading, science, physical science, social science, history, English literature, the arts, foreign languages, and psychology. Students who complete a formal education in the United States also typically participate in community service, if possible, in order to satisfy their financial obligations to society.
As you can see, formal education only holds a few benefits for the person who completes it. An education can serve many purposes, but the life changes that result from it are quite limited. An education can help you achieve certain career goals. It can increase your earning power, which will make you feel more secure in your current job. It can also help you learn about and understand the most essential tool of our economy-the dollar. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, an education can prepare you for a variety of future goals-whether to get married, have children, or move into the middle class.
